Not just your average pizza place! A great little quirky venue in Leeds Centre where you can grab some tasty, fresh pizza as well as other Italian treats. Whether it’s your lunch hour, a break from shopping, or drinks and nibbles with friends, this is a “cool” place to visit!
Overall Rating – 3.5/5
££ = Approx £10 per person for pizza slice, drink and snack!
Set in Queen’s Arcade, Leeds, this restaurant I would describe as a mini Italian Cafe serving authetic Pizzas “by the slice”, cooked Roman style. What do you mean by Roman style you might ask? The chefs here create long fermented dough with a high hydration, giving the pizza an airy but crunchy base. Simpatico is one of the few UK restaurants to serve pizza in this style.
With a variety of toppings that are ever-changing, you can try flavours such as the Classics of Pepperoni or Margerita, as well as flavours you may never have tried before like Broccoli & Yorkshire Blue Cheese or the Nduja with Ricotta! Everyone will find something here whether you’re looking for a classic pizza or a vegetarian or vegan option. There are also various “snacks” to accompany your pizza such as mozzerella sticks, Suppli, Canolli and pastries. All food is made in house, fresh from original receipes and they all look AMAZING.
We tried out the Spicy Meatball & Jalapeno – very tasty and just the right amount of kick! The Ricotta & Spinach was also delicious and the Suppli (similar to Arancini but filled with rice & a tomato sauce and mozzarella in the middle) was to die for! There’s also a great selection of wines, craft beers and coffees as well as soft drinks avialable here. All food and drink can be enjoyed inside (quirky dining area upstairs) or can be taken away. We enjoyed it that much we did both!!
I definitely recommend a visit here, and for the chance to win a £25 tab, follow me across my social media! Good luck.
Happy munching!
