Terrace Cafe Bar & Bistro, Saltaire (Breakfast)

A lovely little Café Bar based in Saltaire, serving great food day and night especially their breakfasts. The Terrace Café also has a reputation for their fabulous French cuisine, which I have yet to try (I would definitely return)!!

Myself and a group of friends met here for breakfast last Bank Holiday Monday as we were staying at a hotel nearby but wanted to find somewhere nice for breakfast on the way home.  I had a little search on Trip Advisor for “breakfast” in Saltaire and number 8 on the list, actually #7 out of 58 restaurants in the Shipley, was The Terrace Café Bar & Bistro. We decided to park near the canal and have a wonder around to see if there was anywhere else that took our fancy but nowhere else did! It was a lovely sunny day and there was some available seating outside Terrace Café so we took the opportunity. Popping in the café to check we could be seated, it looked like a lot of their inside tables were reserved, so this must be a very popular place indeed!

Terrace Café have a great range in their breakfast menu that is served every day from 8:30, or 9:30 on a Sunday. Dishes range from Poached Eggs on Bagel with a variety of additions, Pastries, Pancakes, Full fry-ups (Including a veggie option), Breakfast Baguettes and more, catering for families and individuals alike! Prices range from £3 – £7.50 and fry ups include toast and a hot drink, BARGAIN!!!

I chose The Veggie Works: Veggie Burger, Veggie Sausages, Tomato, Mushrooms, Hash brown, Beans, Egg ,Toast & Preserves, Tea or coffee (v). Everything on my plate was cooked really well and was a huge portion which I was in need of! The veggie burger was a bit of a weird one, but like a mushroom burger, different but nice. Plate just about cleared!

The rest of the group went with The Works: Sausage, Bacon, Black Pudding, Hash Brown, Tomato, Beans, Mushrooms, Egg , Toast & Preserves, Tea or Coffee. 2 people also ordered extra toast, this was not needed!! We ended up with loads of toast left, but everything else was lapped up and enjoyed. They were even really good with our “No black pudding, extra mushrooms for me, can I have extra beans please”. Their service was quick and friendly.

I would recommend stopping here for breakfast, and I am hoping to return in the future to try out their evening menu/French cuisine. Check out their menus here.
