Greetaly, Oughtibridge – Sheffield

We had been meaning to visit this restaurant for a while, so I finally took Ben for his last birthday. The menu here is made up of two halves, one is Greek cuisine, and the other is Italian, but as we eat Italian food fairly regularly, our hearts were set on Greek food! 🫒🫓

I went with the Mix Veggie Platter as I really craved halloumi and Dolmades (vine leaves stuffed with rice). Wow, what a plateful.. this included homemade falafel, pitta, chips, dips, and salad. It was fantastic. Ben chose the Mix Meat Platter, which included chicken gyros, sausage, pork, chicken, and lamb souvlaki! With chips, pitta, salad, and all the dips.

We ate as much as we could and boxed up a few nibbles for later 🤭 This feast was all washed down with a few Greek Alpha beers, of course. This meal really took me to Greece…and now I want book a holiday there, haha.

Other meals you can enjoy here are: Gyros wraps, Moussaka, Kleftiko. And on the Italian menu: Pizzas, Lasagne, Spaghetti Carbonara, Wild Boar Tortellini, Bruschetta and much more.

Greetaly is a great restaurant, but I would definitely recommend booking a table beforehand, as we booked one on a Friday at 6.15pm, and the place was full by the time our food was served and there was a wait on food.

I spent approx £60 for 2 massively filling plates of food and 3 beers. It was not the cheapest, but well worth the price for what we had.

Find out more about them on their social media page here.

We ended up returning to Greetaly in December too, and was kindly given a discount to try our their Breakfast/Brunch Menu.

We have visited previously for a proper Greek feast evening meal, this time we stopped by for a Sunday brunch.

There’s plenty of hot coffees to choose from, I noticed Pistaccino on the menu so OBVS had to go for that… lot of Pistachio cream, very rich and nutty!

For my brunch I chose the Rustic Italian Sandwich, which as you can see came in a floury crispy baguette, filled with Italian sausage (very herby), melted Provolone cheese and a fried egg 👌🏼 I missed getting the cheese pull but this was cheesy, meaty, tasty and VERY filling.

Ben went with the Greek version – Greek sausage and egg wrap, which came rolled in a pita bread with a Greek sausage, fried egg, tirokafteri sauce (spicy feta cheese), lettuce and tomatoes. Another great, filling breakfast!

Though the café was much quieter than when we visited previously on a Friday evening, the service was lovely. In fact they wouldn’t let us leave without trying some traditional Christmas Greek sweet treats from the counter – Melomakarona (Honey Cookie soaked in orange & cinnamon) & Kourabiedes (Shortbread-type cookie with ground almonds)

Another lovely visit here – definitely make the effort to try Greetaly out!!
