Cracking Sunday dinner at this Barnsley Town centre pub, The White Bear, based just over the road from the town hall, just a short walk from the train station and central car parks. It seems a lovely, big pub, and has a sports bar at the back with a pool table, darts board and sport on TV. They also do great deals on pub meals Monday to Thursdays 2 for £12.99! [ad|invite]

With a choice from Pork, Beef, Chicken or all 3 (plus a Mushroom Bourguignon Pie for a veggie version), this Sunday roast is great value for money starting from £13.49. Served with the crispiest roasties (so soft in the middle!), mash, stuffing, a Yorkshire pud and lots of veggies including parsnips (not just for Christmas. Haha), carrots & peas and creamed leeks. Lathered with gravy. We couldn’t fault this plate of food at all, and were pleasantly full.

But of course my dessert stomach had room for the sticky toffee pudding which came with lots of toffee sauce and yummy custard.
We hope to be back here and to Barnsley soon for an afternoon sesh!! For more about this pub, visit their website here.
