The Peacock at Owler Bar, Sheffield

Ben and I were kindly invited to this Bistro Pub & Restaurant to check out their new menu at the end of October, on which there was a LOT of choices (almost too many for me as I’m so indecisive haha). There’s also a set menu where you can eat for less and enjoy 2 courses for just £21.95 or 3 for £29.95 (available Monday to Saturday).

We enjoyed:

  • Goat’s cheese & cranberry mousse with ciabatta crostini – crunchy and tasty, though a little dry
  • Henderson’s-caramelised onion & cranberry scotch egg – with a runny centre 👌🏼
  • 10oz Sirloin Steak, served with triple-cooked chips and a grilled Portobello mushroom with smoked paprika rarebit and roasted vine tomatoes. Ben went with blue cheese sauce which was fabulous!
  • Slow-cooked beef brisket, colcannon mashed potato, roasted carrots and grilled tenderstem broccoli, red wine jus.
  • I couldn’t leave without trying this dessert – Chocolate brownie, cranberry & cinnamon mousse, honeycomb crunch ice cream, berries & orange coulis.

The warm atmosphere, welcoming service and impeccable food, made this a really gorgeous evening. To find out more about The Peacock, visit their website here.
