Joomak, Sheffield

I enjoyed;

  • Sogogi Bokkeum (a spicy stir fry with slices of tender beef, onions, peppers and chillies) and steamed rice. This was very tasty and had a great kick to it and lots of garlic which I love!
  • Fried chicken and tteokbokki (Korean rice cakes) skewers – the rice cakes were intersting… they look like little polystyrene tubes haha, but they are quite nice stodgy things that soak up the sauce. A lovely dside dish.
  • A lovely Tsingtao beer to wash it all down with
  • Desserts for the event were gifted by:
    • 🍩@msbkery.uk (A Sheffield based Chinese Bakery providing bakes and cakes nationwide) – I chose their oreo coffee bun & yuzu lemon custard layer cake. Loved these! You can also get their desserts at @oseyouk @khoriental @tastetheorientsheffield & more
    • 🍧@yeekwan_icecream who have recently created an exciting range of tea inspired Tea-misu desserts, made with tea infused Savoiardi sponge fingers sandwiched between a light and dreamy mascarpone cream. I had their strawberry matchamisu which was lovely. I didn’t get much matcha flavour but I’m quite glad as I’m not overly keen on it.
