All Bar One, Leeds City Centre – New Menu Invite (Oct 2017)

This weekend, All Bar One (Millennium Square, Leeds) kindly invited me to their stylish city centre bar & restaurant to try out some of their new menu.  Having never eaten here previously, I had no idea what to expect, so I was excited to discover the food they had on offer.

Sunday night, the atmosphere was sophisticated yet relaxed, welcoming a mixture of different parties; a teenage girl’s birthday meal, small parties of friends enjoying cocktails, couples enjoying drinks and food.

Their menu offers a mouth-watering choice of food from classics such as handmade burgers with all of the extras, to globally inspired plates such as Miso Rice Bowls and Lobster Mac n Cheese.

We started off with 4 of the Small Plates; Iberico Ham Croquettes, Padron Peppers, Pea, Feta & Mint Falafel, and the Salt & Pepper Calamari.

Every small dish was really yummy and enjoyable, cooked well and tasted fresh. I especially loved the Padron peppers that were simply grilled and served with chipotle mayonnaise and salt. They made a healthy and refreshing change from all of the typical peppers stuffed with cheese that are on a lot of other menus. I also rate the Falafel, which comes with gorgeous hummus and pomegranate. I would definitely recommend trying these small plates whether for a starters or main! – ANY 3 FOR £15 OR 5 FOR £25

For our main meal we were served the Vegan Burger; Beetroot hummus and roasted peppers served in an ancient grain bun with a side of skin-on fries, and the Thai Beef Salad; sliced beef fillet, with cucumber, tomato, red onion, spring onions, lime, coriander & som tam dressing.

Both very healthy options, yet filling and really good. The Vegan Burger wasn’t necessarily something I would have chosen myself, but it was delicious, so potentially I’ll be trying more vegan meals in the future!

The Thai Beef Salad was also fab, really fresh and not just an afterthought, but a really fulfilling salad.

For those of you that enjoy going out to eat, but are quite health conscious and don’t want to pay over the top for a salad that is just thrown together, I would really recommend eating here. There are other light options to choose from too, such as Peri Peri Chicken and Haddock Fishcakes.Main meals are priced between £10 – £16.

To complete our meal, we then got to try some fantastic desserts;  Lime pie with tangy blueberries, and AJ’s cheesecake (raspberry ripple cheesecake with a layer of chocolate and a gorgeous biscuit base. As you know I have a sweet tooth, and as full as I was by that point, that didn’t stop me from having a very generous helping of both desserts!

So in summary, All Bar One is a great place to try different foods, even for the health conscious, whilst spending time with loved ones in a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere. I’d also like to point out that the service was faultless too!

Be sure to join the mailing list if you are interested in dining here, as you will receive a £5 voucher towards your bill!

Happy munching 🙂
