I found out about this understated Pizzeria based on Glossop Road by word of mouth through a number of fellow Sheffield foodies as THE place to go for pizza. When you have a lot of people all saying good things about the same place, you just can’t miss out!
As the restaurant is based approx 20-25 mins away from us and currently offering Deliveroo or collection only, we decided to co-inside a big walk around the Lodge Moor and Crosspool area, picking up a takeaway on the way home. This was SUCH a good idea!!
I called Napoli as soon as they opened at 5pm on Saturday and booked a collection for 6:15pm. We arrived bang on time and the order was just being boxed up. Service was friendly and organised, and currently they are only taking payment by card/apple pay.
We decided to get a starter to share, and what better than a bit of everything with their Frito Napoletano
Arancino – deep-fried risotto ball filled with mozzarella and tomato sauce
Frittatina – bucatini pasta, bechamel sauce, peas and smoked mozzarella
Crocche – golden potato croquette filled with mozarella cheese
Each piece was cheesy, delicious and really tasty, we really enjoyed all three!
We also got a pizza each, and only just managed to eat it all! All pizza bases are made with a slow-proofed dough that is cooked in just 90 seconds at 500 degree heat, resulting in a light and airy base with a slightly charred crust. REALLY good.
From the “Pizze Speciali” we got;
Cafona – Fior di latte, Italian fennel sausage, rosemary roasted potatoes, smoked provola cheese, touch of tomato.

Calabrese – Organic tomato, fior di latte, spicy Calabrian nduja, fresh ricotta

Both pizzas were cooked to perfection and the toppings were just right. There’s nothing more I can say apart from, we loved it. We didn’t want to leave any food because it all tasted so good but we were absolutely stuffed afterwards so we definitely didn’t need any more than what we ordered!
I would highly recommend Napoli Centro and hope to return again. Please visit their website here to find out more.

eh…The crust looks over charred, but the starter’s look fabulous.
