Large pub in the centre of Dewsbury worth the visit for their beer garden and what we would class as premium pub food alone!! Have you ever had a pint glass of chips before?? Well order a main meal here and that’s what you get!!

Having recently launched a new menu and doing some work to their venue to welcome punters back, this is a nice pub to visit if you’re around the Kirklees area. Enjoy some refreshing, tasty pub grub and a pint or two whilst sat listening to music and socialising in their large beer garden. They are still making improvements to the pub and always their updating social media, so I think this is one to watch and I’m excited to see how successful this place becomes!
One of my friends has recently taken over the kitchen here and launched a new menu, and it is PERFECT for this time of year and the weather we are having. The kebabs and burgers are particularly popular…
On a Wednesday tea time, which was a little cloudy compared to previous days, there was still about a third of the beer garden full which was good to see. We brought my Mum here for her birthday and it was great to be able to sit in a beer garden next to the river, and have some music on in the background giving it a bit of an atmosphere.

My Mum and I decided to try the Kebabs as they looked amazing and were recommended as top sellers, and they were just as good as they looked! I went for the Halloumi Kebab (obviously) which came with onions and peppers. Both kebab meals also came with a small side salad, naan bread, yogurt dip and a PINT OF CHIPS!! An actual proper pint glass too. I thought this was quirky and fun, although all mains do come with this and it’s a fair lot of chips for everyone to get through (you know me though I battled through haha)! – Maybe it’s an idea to do a pint of chips per 2 mains ordered? Mum went with the chicken kebab; this was spiced beautifully and went really well with the yogurt dip.

Ben went for the Piri Piri Chicken Burger with Jamaican spicing which came with a MASSIVE piece of freshly coated chicken inside. A beast of a burger accompanied by beer battered onion rings, slaw and washed down with a pint of chips – we couldn’t fault it.
We were too full to try anything else but the menu also has a great choice of other Pub Classics such as Fish & Chips, Pie, Steaks and a choice of vegetarian and vegan dishes too.
I recommend to give this place a try as I say for the food and to have a drink in their beer garden alone! Looking forward to seeing more improvements to the venue and new dishes/special on their menu to try too.
Give the Leggers Inn Facebook page a visit here if you want to know more about them.
Thanks for reading and I hope that I have given you somewhere to add to your list of places to go in good old Yorkshire.

A pint of chips – love that!! I don’t usually have pints, but that one I think I could manage 🙂
