The Castle Inn, Bolsterstone

One Sunday in June, we planned a 7 mile walk around the Bolsterstone area, and ended up at the local and traditional pub, The Castle Inn, for a couple of beers and a “reyt” good Sunday Dinner.

This pub offers their Sunday dinners as sharers. Out came a stacked sharing board of lots of veg (LOVE red cabbage!!!), roasties, TWO Yorkies each, with stuffing and pigs in blankets inside and a big jug of gravy.
We also added cauliflower cheese which was absolutely banging!

We had a choice of slow-cooked gammon or beef, we both went beef. The only niggle I had was after all the trimmings came out looking amazing, the pile of slow-cooked, pulled beef looked quite lacking on the plate when it came out. It was actually delicious, but in comparison didn’t give the wow factor when it came out. I think its because we are used to sliced meat. There wasn’t anything wrong with it.. maybe a slightly bigger portion would have been better?

But I highly recommend giving this pub a visit for Sunday dinner!

Nearby street parking only. Plan a walk too in the beautiful surroundings! For more information, follow them on Facebook.
