Napoleon’s Casino, Leeds

Overall Rating – 4/5

Good food, large portions, great package for parties!

£23pp Monday – Thursday or £26pp Fri – Sunday for the Dine In Style Package; 3 course meal, free drink and £5 gaming chip!

Napoleon’s Casino is a great choice for parties whether it’s for a birthday, a work get together, or just an excuse to try good food and have a bit of a gamble! Last week 8 of us celebrated a 30th birthday here on a Tuesday night and we chose the Dine In Style Package for £23pp as described above. The person who’s birthday it was also got their meal for free (if you’re a member you get your birthday meal free), and received another free drink and £5 gaming chip.

For my starter I chose the salmon. I expected cured salmon, however the salmon was oven baked, and for me there was a bit too much dressing/sauce, which made eating the starter a little awkward. Nevertheless the starter was tasty and a decent portion. A number of the party went for the Toad in the Hole starters which they enjoyed.

I went with the lamb dish for my main, which I chose to be cooked pink (this was cooked to perfection). The lamb came with a tomato based sauce, chorizo and potato rostis. The food was cooked well and was really tasty. Among us we also ordered the burger, steak, chicken with mushrooms etc and everyone complimented their dishes. I would note that all mains also come with HUGE sides of roast potatoes and vegetables that are served for everyone to share. Unfortunately a lot of this went to waste.

Only a few of us ordered desserts as we were so full at this point, but I went for the pear tart with esperesso cream which was delightful, but there was no way I could eat it all. The cheeseboard was massive, but delicious. Good comments on the chocolate pudding and cheesecake too.

I would bear in mind for anyone dining here that the portions are very big and maybe not everyone needs to order the set 3 course meal.

After dinner we went down into the casino to use our free gaming chips and we ended up staying a good few hours, with the casino getting busier later on, and we had loads of fun with the family.

All in all we had a great night, I would definitely recommend hosting a party/dining here, and I am hoping that I get the chance to go back myself. The menu does change every few month, however I have dined here twice now and both times the food has been really good.
