A stylish and intimate brasserie and restaurant based at the Mal Maison Hotel in Leeds serving delicious food and also a great place for couples or friends to go for drinks. Overall rating – 9/10.
After receiving an email from Leeds List about the January-February Chateaubriand offer that Chez Mal had on, I couldn’t say no and had to book a table! £49 for 2 people to receive a Chateaubriand board with sides of fries, salad, onion rings and mushrooms, plus a glass of Prosecco each and a bottle of wine to share. What a bargain!
We ordered our steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. The amount of food served was just enough and was all delicious, especially the homemade onion rings. Our Prosecco was poured on arrival, and we also chose a bottle of red which went down well. We had a perfect evening there! I would happily go back to to try some of their other dishes on the menu and/or go for a few cosy drinks in the bar.
Although the Chateaubriand isn’t always available at this restaurant, Chez Mal has some other amazing food on offer. Their current Dinner Menu showcases starters like; Ham hock, pork & cranberry roulade and Chez Mal buffalo chicken wing with prices ranging between £5.50 – £11.50.
You will see Mains such as; Cottage Pie, Sausage & Mash, Makhani Butter Chicken, Steaks & Burgers and prices range from £13 – £29.50 per dish.
As for the desserts you can choose from the likes of Sticky Toffee Pudding, Apple & Blackberry Crumble or a Chocolate Torte costing you between £6.50 – £8.50.
