The Little Bull – Middlestown, Wakefield (Takeaway)

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Lovely little traditional pub serving decent homemade food, which has been offering regular collection/delivery options throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

During lockdown, The Little Bull has been offering a collection and takeaway service almost daily with menus such as Sunday Roasts, Fish & Chip Fridays, Wednesday Pie Night and a small menu selection on some Mondays.

This family-run pub is a little drive away from where I live but a friend had recommended the Sunday lunches here and the initial plan was to visit and take my Mum for Mother’s Day. With Coronavirus coming along and spoiling that plan, I decided to still put an order in for collection and I am so glad that I did.

To order I just had to call the pub and they gave me a time slot to come and collect, with no more than 2 people being able to collect at the same time. I arrived and my food was still being cooked but the friendly staff kept me updated and made sure that I had everything I ordered, packed in various foil boxes. I believe a lady called Mel owns the pub, who is also the one making all this lovely food with family to help out. Medals all round!

The Little Bull are offering slightly discounted Sunday lunches to their usual dine in menu which is decent of them, and for an absolute bargain of £6 you get a mountain of food! I ordered 2 pork dinners, which came with the full works of mash, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, vegetables, and lots of gravy. The food filled our plates and went down a treat as everything was delicious!

We also had sticky toffee pudding with custard for dessert which were a real treat, they were large portions and priced at £3.50 each. You can also takeaway a selection of drinks too.

The process from ordering to sitting down to eat was problem-free and worth the 15 minute drive each way. I hope that The Little Bull opens it’s doors again soon and wish them every success! Fingers crossed I get to dine in there one day too! Find out more about them on their website here.
