Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana, Sheffield City Centre

Another branch joins the Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana family, this time in Sheffield – Divison Street. As with the Leeds venue that I had the chance to visit on their opening, this Sheffield-based restaurant is a relaxed pizzeria, following the traditions and artistry of pizza from Naples – the birth place of pizza. Another great addition to Sheffield City Centre in my opinion!

We visited Rudy’s on a Wednesday evening before going to the theatre and the restaurant was fairly busy. We booked in advance and this is probably a good idea if you’re planning a meal here as it does seem to be a popular place.

I had told myself all day, we don’t need a full pizza each, just share a starter and a pizza. I ate a full pizza…lol.

We decided to go half and half and went with;

Cinghiale – San Marzalo tomato, fior di latte, wild boar, salame, ‘nduja, roquito peppers, parmesan, fresh chilli, basil, olive oil. This pizza is super indulgent, mouthwatering, and has a lovely chilli kick to it! Right up our street and very yummy.

January Special Almost Carbonara – Sliced guanciale, fior di latte mozzarella, smoked scamorza, grated pecorino and parmesan, finished with an egg yolk drizzle. This was extra cheesy, subtle with the very salty meat, and delicious!

We maybe left a mouthful between us but we really enjoyed the pizzas here; thin, slightly chewy base with a crisp, slightly charred and puffy crust, topped with quality ingredients. We were absolutely stuffed for the rest of the evening.

The menu at Rudy’s offers a selection of starters and sharers such as Olives, Garlic Bread, Burrata etc, with the star of the show being the pizza selection covering veggie and meaty pizzas. All pizzas are served the same size and will cost between £6.50 – £11.90 each. Trust me, they are filling. But if you’re feeling extra hungry, you can add extra toppings or add a side to your main too. There is a small dessert menu, and don’t forget to look at the monthly specials boards which include drinks specials as well.

The restaurant itself is a fairly casual yet welcoming setting with an open kitchen, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Another Rudy’s Pizza that Jen’s Food Blog would recommend to any pizza lover!
