Hip, modern Chinese Bar & Restaurant in Leeds City Centre, serving AMAZING food with a bit of a twist. Can’t fault my experience here at all. Overall rating 10/10!

Jan 2020 – I was really impressed with my visit to Mans Market – the food, drinks and the service all faultless! This restaurant gives a kind of Street Food/Underground Canteen vibe and the experience as a whole is something slightly different to dining at your classic Chinese Restaurants. Basically you are given a laminated poster and pen to order your food, write the numbers of the dishes you have chosen to order, and peg the board up above your table. At the end, when you’re ready for the bill, you peg up a sign saying “I’m ready to go”. A good way to make you remember this place!

The menu consists of various Dim Sum or “Chinese Tapas” dishes, Sharing Pans, Bao and extras. As well as this, there is a fantastic drinks menu with Hong Kong inspired cocktails, wine, beer and a Bar Snacks menu too. Between 2 of us we decided to kick off with the Giant Prawn Crackers – a must to start! Then we went on to try out 3 of the Dim Sum, a Sharing Pan and a side dish.

For the Dim Sum we had; Salt & Pepper Chicken – Crispy battered chunks of chicken with the peppers, chillies and onions – one of my favourite things on a Chinese menu. Duck Rolls – Spring rolls (4) packed full of shredded duck, served with Hoisin Sauce and cucumber & spring onions – these were super good! Firecracker prawns – king prawns cooked in a light batter, served in a spicy Marie Rose sauce – these were tangy and tasty and there were loads!

We also shared the Crispy Chilli Beef sharing pan – a classic and it was SOOOOO good! And we had a side of Salt & Pepper Chips as these are also one of my favourite dishes. All the food was really good and we cleared the lot. Just reviewing it is getting my stomach rumbling again! I also got to try the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini with a side of chocolate! This isn’t on the drinks menu but well worth asking for!

I can’t wait to go back and eat here to be honest and would recommend to any Chinese food lover. Check out all their menus and more here.
And then we returned in April 2026 – we were kindly invited back to try their Rush Hour Express menu.

I was super happy to return after too long to Man’s Market. The food here is always really good and the vibe is always fun.

We enjoyed Salt & Pepper Chicken (lots of it) and Chicken Gyoza to start. I then went for my old classic Chinese takeaway order (not had this in years) of Kung Pao Chicken and Noodles. Omg it was delicious… I’ve been missing out haha. Ben went for Chicken Curry & Salt & Pepper Chips – so good. With all this tasty food, we enjoyed some pints and cocktails to wash it all down with.
We had absolute feast and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here again. We can highly recommend giving this Leeds based restaurant a try!

I went here and just like you, found everything is either deep fried or soaked in a sugar syrup. Making it impossible to have a balanced meal. It’s also massively expensive, we spent £65 for 2 people and were still hungry as the portions are tiny for sharing. The salmon for example came as just one salmon fillet.
